Politihøgskolen i Oslo – Norway 1995 - 1996<br />

Police Academy in Oslo, Client: Public Construction, Use: Police Academy in Oslo, Year built: 1995-1996, Area: 8200 m2<br />

The new building represents <strong>the</strong> three phases of <strong>the</strong> Police Academy and consists of a five-storey wing along Gydas way, and a single<br />

storey wing to Trudvang Road. The new building is linked to existing school facilities with a footbridge in <strong>the</strong> 3rd storey level. The<br />

buildings are tightening up <strong>the</strong> existing block structure in <strong>the</strong> area and amplifier characteristics. The new building contains <strong>the</strong><br />

student functions in <strong>the</strong> three lower floors with a large library and reading rooms, auditorium with 200 seats, spacious classrooms,<br />

seminar rooms and group rooms. In <strong>the</strong> two upper floors are offices and meeting rooms for teachers and trainers. (Lille)<br />

Hermetikken Kulturfabrikk, Sortland – Norway in design<br />

LPO is in <strong>the</strong> process of planning and design of a new cultural center in <strong>the</strong> "Blue City" Sortland. Here will be built a new library<br />

and concert hall. It is supplied pre-project. (LPO)<br />

Kulturfabrikken being built!<br />

Municipal Council in Sortland decided in June 2011 that Kulturfabrikken be built subject to realization of new hotel. Blåbyen Invest<br />

AS announced during Christmas that <strong>the</strong> hotel is being built, and thus are ready for a new arts event in downtown Sortland and<br />

Vesterålen. Demolition work will start in a few weeks, and in March 2014 <strong>the</strong> building can be used.<br />

There have been thorough preparations before <strong>the</strong> decision to build was made. The basis for <strong>the</strong> content of Kulturfabrikken that<br />

were added in <strong>the</strong> program document and visualized through sketches (see details below), has given assurance that this will be a<br />

future cultural center with a multitude of opportunities for all groups. In addition, we are creating a new and different venue in <strong>the</strong><br />

center of Sortland. Concurrent with <strong>the</strong> municipal council for <strong>the</strong> construction of Kulturfabrikken gave Nordland County Council a<br />

commitment of 20.0 million in funding for this project (absent play and county funds). From before <strong>the</strong> county council supported <strong>the</strong><br />

project with 2.0 million is later given tilsang from <strong>the</strong> county with care plan for Culture Factory and <strong>the</strong> new hotel with kr. 2.75<br />

million music scene expressed great joy when <strong>the</strong> Music arrangement just before Christmas gave support to 5 of rehearsal rooms<br />

built with £. 1.25 million new arts Sortland Sortland presidency decided in <strong>the</strong> meeting 28.09.07, implementation of <strong>the</strong> project New<br />

arts in Sortland. The decision was taken in conjunction with Urban Development Programme and <strong>the</strong> municipal sector plan for<br />

Sortland strategic part 2007-2019. following mandate was given for arts project: "The development of a project library, cultural<br />

hall, cinema, gallery and cultural workshops with activity facilities for arts, young and old can co-located. One such collection is<br />

necessary for <strong>the</strong> creation of <strong>the</strong> key meeting place, but also to achieve operational efficiency. "<br />

Dance House Vulkan – Oslo 2008<br />

The total gross area is about 3500m2.<br />

Interior design is a collaboration between Snøhetta and LPO.<br />

Dance House has become within <strong>the</strong> shell of an old machine shop located along <strong>the</strong> Aker River at Vulcan at Grünerløkka in Oslo.<br />

Dance House should be a national stage for performances of Norwegian and international contemporary dance performances and<br />

expertise place for dance. The project includes a main stage with room for 350 people, BISC, a foyer with café, operations,<br />

administration of Dance House and Dance Information, <strong>the</strong> Norwegian Information Office of dance with dance library and a video<br />

Diakon, <strong>Library</strong> and Learning Center, Oslo – Norway 2008<br />

Employer: Diakonhjemmets property department<br />

The building contains offices for Diakonhjemmets hospitals and Diakonhjemmets college. The central location in Diakonhjemmets<br />

parkland, between <strong>the</strong> hospital and <strong>the</strong> college's main buildings provide an ideal base for <strong>the</strong> development of this common feature.<br />

Auditorium, library and group and lecture rooms will have a major impact on both institutions. In addition, <strong>the</strong> new building a<br />

Learning and Mastering Center (LMS) for patients and <strong>the</strong>ir families. The building was officially opened by Bishop Kvarme August<br />

26th, 2011. (LPO)<br />

Papirbredden | School and <strong>Library</strong>, Drammen – Norway 2007<br />

Employer: Entra in cooperation with Drammen Property KF<br />

Transforming Union Paper Mill at Drammenselva for educational and cultural purposes. Besides facilities for College of Buskerud,<br />

Telemark College and BI, contains plant library Drammen, Norway's first co-location of a library attached to both schools, <strong>the</strong><br />

county and municipality. Most functions are brought toge<strong>the</strong>r in a new building on <strong>the</strong> river. The building is designed with regular<br />

floors which encloses a high atrium. Against this atrium are lecture and o<strong>the</strong>r special functions toge<strong>the</strong>r in a cylindrical main form<br />

with reference to <strong>the</strong> old industrial silos in <strong>the</strong> square outside. In addition to <strong>the</strong>se silos is <strong>the</strong> original "beater" restored as part of <strong>the</strong><br />

new library. The entire facility is "The Blue Room" which both binds toge<strong>the</strong>r and manages a continuity from <strong>the</strong> city, through <strong>the</strong><br />

new building and out to <strong>the</strong> river. The project is developed with great rationality and implemented in a very short time after a socalled<br />

interaction model between <strong>the</strong> client, <strong>the</strong> planners and contractors. Artistic decoration of <strong>the</strong> cylindrical body shape is<br />

performed by Jon Arne Mogstad. concept for <strong>the</strong> facility and <strong>the</strong> preparation of "The Blue Room" was developed in collaboration<br />

with architect Kristine Jensen Tegnestue in Aarhus. (LPO)<br />

In order to exploit to <strong>the</strong> full <strong>the</strong> library resources of Drammen and create a high-class, future-oriented library, three library<br />

organizations were brought toge<strong>the</strong>r under one roof. Toge<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>y form <strong>the</strong> Combined <strong>Library</strong>/Drammensbiblioteket, which in<br />

turn is part of <strong>the</strong> Papirbredden Knowledge Centre, an integrated campus. The new library building was completed in <strong>the</strong> beginning<br />

of December 2006 and <strong>the</strong> library opened officially on 2 March 2007. Drammensbiblioteket is a coalition of three separate library<br />

organisations working toge<strong>the</strong>r. The three partners are <strong>the</strong> county library, <strong>the</strong> municipal library and <strong>the</strong> university college library.<br />

To <strong>the</strong> visitor Drammensbiblioteket is one unit. The Combined <strong>Library</strong> serves as a link between <strong>the</strong> municipality and <strong>the</strong> university<br />
