The new Center for Innovation provides Citrus College with a 34,156 square‐foot, 3‐story, high‐tech center for faculty development.<br />

It contains a multi‐media center for <strong>the</strong> creation of teaching and research presentations by faculty. This facility includes 76 new<br />

faculty offices with office space for part‐time instructors, scholars/artists‐in‐residence, and 6 suites for academic deans. Open spaces<br />

are equipped with workstations at which a variety of on‐going, innovative projects may be created by collaborative teams of faculty<br />

and students. The teleconferencing center holds 100 seats for <strong>the</strong> hosting of academic and community conferences. The facility also<br />

houses <strong>the</strong> Distance Education, Study Abroad and Student Honors programs. (tBP)<br />

The Science Building is one of three new buildings Los Medanos College has developed in <strong>the</strong> new College Quad. The Science<br />

Building joins <strong>the</strong> new <strong>Library</strong> and Math <strong>Buildings</strong>. The architectural language of <strong>the</strong> new facilities reflects <strong>the</strong> original vocabulary<br />

of modern design but also provides a contrast. The expression is one that is consistent with <strong>the</strong> College’s mission of projecting a<br />

progressive and technology‐based image. The Science Building incorporates a flexible, state‐of‐<strong>the</strong>‐art laboratory environment for<br />

<strong>the</strong> teaching of <strong>the</strong> Physical and Biological Sciences, which includes classrooms, one large tiered classroom, faculty offices and<br />

The new two-story <strong>Library</strong>/LRC now serves Orange Coast College’s desire for a state of <strong>the</strong> art, digitally enhanced Learning<br />

Resource Center set within <strong>the</strong> center of <strong>the</strong> academic campus. The new LRC provides a structurally safe accessible facility<br />

replacing <strong>the</strong> now closed structurally unsafe library, It corrects deficiencies in <strong>the</strong> library function demand/capacity ratio, provides<br />

needed space and program expansion, modernizes <strong>the</strong> digital delivery of instructional and research media, centralizes learning<br />

resources within <strong>the</strong> academic core, and frees up campus space for <strong>the</strong> future consolidation of student services programs. (tBP)<br />

Features Included, Functions: LRC: Computer Commons, Distance Learning Center, Teaching Learning Center, Math/Science<br />

Center, Foreign Language Center, Tutoring Rooms and Support Offices; <strong>Library</strong>: Central Stacks, Reading Areas, Study Rooms,<br />

Computer Area and Orientation Room.<br />

The Cypress College <strong>Library</strong>/Learning Resource Center is <strong>the</strong> new focal point to draw activities to <strong>the</strong> east end of <strong>the</strong> campus. 24<br />

hour access / 7 days a week was a critical aspect to <strong>the</strong> design of <strong>the</strong> facility. The <strong>Library</strong>/LRC includes a central 2-story entry lobby<br />

leading to <strong>the</strong> LRC – a central computer learning commons, surrounded by a math/science lab, a foreign language lab, a teachers<br />

learning center, a distance learning lab and group study rooms. The LRC promotes interdisciplinary support on campus. The<br />

library, with more limited access, is located on <strong>the</strong> second floor with central stacks, reading areas and study rooms taking full<br />

advantage of <strong>the</strong> campus view. An orientation room is included, and a service elevator connects to <strong>the</strong> second level service areas.<br />

The 68,000 square foot state-of-<strong>the</strong>-art <strong>Library</strong> and Learning Resource Center is designed to meet <strong>the</strong> information and research<br />

needs of students in <strong>the</strong> 21st century. Featuring a unique building design that is innovative, yet functional, flexible, and timeless, <strong>the</strong><br />

library is <strong>the</strong> hub of campus information and learning technologies. The two floor facility houses traditional college library resources<br />

and services including Circulation Services, Reference Services, Technical Services, an Information Competency Center, and<br />

Computer and Media Services. Also within <strong>the</strong> library are a Faculty and Staff Resource Center, 22 collaborative group study rooms<br />

(11 with plasma screens and/or smart board technologies), a state-of-<strong>the</strong>-art Distance Learning & Video Conference Center, a<br />

Community Room, campus Computer Equipment Services, AV Equipment Services, and a beautiful lobby/ atrium equipped with a<br />

The Fullerton College <strong>Library</strong>/LRC is a new facility designed to replace <strong>the</strong> college’s former library and to develop a comprehensive<br />

Learning Resource Center. The facility is designed as a focal centerpiece to <strong>the</strong> historic 1930’s Work Projects Administration (WPA)<br />

campus and is a tribute to <strong>the</strong> Hispano Mooresque style of <strong>the</strong> original campus architecture. The library portion of <strong>the</strong> facility fronts<br />
