These evening concerts held in 1940‐1967 and known as “Gattiker‐house evenings for
Contemporary music” was a platform for musicians and composers that were not famous yet.
There is a book by Doris Lanz about it where the contribution of these evenings to 20th century
contemporary music is discussed in detail.

Scelsi was an Italian composer who had moved to Switzerland when Italy entered war. In Italy
