"One of the most imposing Baroque palaces of Europe, Blenheim was built for the Duke of
Marlborough by Queen Anne's command after the victory of Blenheim in 1704.” El arquitecto que diseñó
esta imponente construcción fue Vanbrugh, quien dijo que: “… although the building was to be calculated for and
adapted to a private habitation, yet it ought at the same time to be considered both a royal and national monument, and care
taken in the design that it might have the qualities proper to such a monument, viz. beauty, magnificence and duration.' "
