by a bishop may be bound to appear before JPs who can assess them; fines for<br />

those refusing to be collectors for the poor.<br />

much they require and assess 'a1l the inhabitants' to contribute weekly to<br />

their relief, on pain of committal to gaol.<br />

(iv) Collectors of assessments and overseers of the poor to be appointed,<br />

and monthly 'views and searches' of poor ma<strong>de</strong>.<br />

(v) Returned vagabonds to be set to work and children bound to service.<br />

(vi) Jps may license beggars if too many to be relieved otherwise.<br />
