Saxony-Anhalt goes South Carolina
This in-service teacher training course is part of an exchange programme for teachers organised by
the Checkpoint Charlie Foundation, Berlin and the Ministry of Education of Saxony- Anhalt.
Primary school teachers who are involved in the programme will get an opportunity to experience
learning and teaching practice at an American elementary school. Workshops held at the University of
South Carolina at Columbia will focus on current issues of American society. Cultural studies in the
U.S. will deal with aspects of American history and government.
Hinweis zum Termin 10.10. - 24.10.2009: Gemäß RdErl. des MK vom 06.06.2001, SVBl. LSA 10/2001
tragen die Teilnehmenden an Veranstaltungen der staatlichen Lehrerfortbildung im Ausland einen
finanziellen Eigenanteil in Höhe von 600,00 Euro. An- und Abreise, Unterbringung und Verpflegung
werden durch die Checkpoint Charlie Stiftung organisiert. Detaillierte Angaben ergehen mit der
Einladung.
Die Anmeldung zum ersten Termin bedingt auch die Teilnahme an allen weiteren Veranstaltungen.

Storytelling workshop
Stories have been part of people's culture and literature for generations. Storytelling is one of the
oldest and most powerful teaching and learning methods. In the English language classroom it offers
opportunities to develop the pupils' communicative skills. The participants of this course will be
provided with basic techniques of storytelling and they will be encouraged to practise storytelling
themselves. This course is conducted by a native speaker who teaches English as a foreign language
and who is a professional storyteller himself.

Englisch in 5/6 an Sekundarschulen oder Gymnasien unterrichten
