5.5.1. Percutane Transluminale Angioplastie (PTA)
Analoog aan de PTCA bij coronaire vaten (cf.§ 5.3.1), kunnen niet-coronaire arteriën d.m.v. een
ballonkatheter gedilateerd worden. Dit noemt een percutane transluminale angioplastie (PTA).
Voor de PTA van de precerebrale slagaders (a. carotis, a. vertebralis, a. basilaris) geldt procedurecode
00.61 “Percutaneous angioplasty or atherectomy of precerebral (extracranial) vessel(s)” (Percutane
angioplastie of atherectomie van precerebrale (extracraniële) bloedvat(en)).
Stenting van deze precerebrale vaten wordt gecodeerd met:
00.63 “Percutaneous insertion of carotid artery stent(s)” (Percutane insertie van carotisstent(s))
00.64 “Percutaneous insertion of other precerebral (extracranial) artery stent(s)” (Percutane
insertie van andere precerebrale (extracraniële) stent(s))
Dilatatie of atherectomie van cerebrale (intracraniële) arteriën registreren we met 00.62 “Percutaneous
angioplasty or atherectomy of intracranial vessel(s)” (Percutane angioplastie of atherectomie van
intracraniële bloedvat(en)), stenting met 00.65 “Percutaneous insertion of intracranial vascular stent(s)”
(Percutane insertie van intracraniële stent(s)).
Tenslotte geldt voor alle andere grote en perifere vaten code 39.50 “Angioplasty or atherectomy of other
non-coronary vessel(s)” (Angioplastie of atherectomie van ander niet-coronair bloedvat).
Bij gebruik van een stent moet 39.50 geassocieerd worden met:
39.90 “Insertion of non-drug-eluting peripheral vessel stent(s)” (Insertie van een nietmedicatieafgevende
perifere bloedvatstent)
