Thephonology of the Turk languages has had an effect on these pronunciations,and from the viewpoint of Arabic these reading traditions appearcorrupt. At the moment, the "genuine" Arabic pronunciation can be heardeverywhere on recordings, cassettes, TV ete., and it enjoys the status ofprestige.
