I mean does nayone ever say if Angelo, Massimo, Howard C, Noam, Gerry S.
(if he is still with us), Jimmy D., Steve from New Jwrsey, R.S. (if she comes
back), any of the other regulars, or if members of the Quarry family have
regular jobs or not? So why me? I still haven't figured that out. |

knows what wasn't weird was the sound of Floyd Patterson's behind on the canvas
against Jerry Quarry. Quarry was a huge underdog, as he was little known
outside California against the legendary ex-champ who had just demolished Henry
Cooper. Quarry-Patterson I is a fantastic fight, so is the second one as well.
Fan likes to watch old Quarry fights and sip English Brown Ale.|

Jerry's win over Patterson was a huge win for him. Patterson had a resurrgance
in his career around this time with wins over Chuvalo, one of the best fights of
his career, a near win over Ellis, in which a lot of people thought he had won
the fight and then an upcoming win over Bonevena.I thought our Jerry Q
won both fights with Patterson that the draw verdict in the first fight was
based on a middle round knockdown of Jerry that looked like a slip to
me.Some people say the Quarry win in the second Patterson fight wasn't
right but I don't agree as Jerry knocked down Patterson twice in the fight in
two seperate rounds and Patterson would have had to dominate the rest of the
fight to win. I thought the fight in the rest of those rounds was close, so
Jerry wins, which he did.Fan, you are right, people here can be strange.

the way I use my 5'6", 133 lbs, 7 or 8 shoe size giant frame. I don't know any
martial art; I don't need them. So I work the night and I am free during the

little bit better than Floyd Patterson. If Floyd had fought Lyle, Mac Foster or
Shavers they likely would have knocked his ass out. However, they were very
close in my book. Floyd had a more lucky career in that he had the chance of
fighting for the title an aging ( even if not still washed up) Archie Moore and
then of defending the title against "not terrible" opposition.|

Perfect characterization of Patterson and his career. It was a classic case of
right place at the right time for him to be a heavyweight champion not once but
twice. He was good for his size---that's about it. By the way, who do we think

have only seen him in his chump ridicolous performance against Tyson. That
