ecause that's what everyone wants---or if it's what everyone wants because the
media piles it on! This could be a case of the public wanting what they get
instead of getting what they want. |
he is not a WIP) is accused of having done something(of)bad very very often
he is guilty (say 95% of the times). You can't be sure tough, as there are
exceptions. But you never can be 100 % sure, not even if he admits his fault ,he
might have been paid to do so, they are called TESTE DI LEGNO ( WOODEN HEADS) in
the MAFIA SLANG.The only way of being sure at 100% would be that God
Himself tell us " HE IS GUILTY, I KNOW IT AS I KNOW EVERYTHING", but I think
this is not very likely to happen. |
|11/2/04 02:56:10 PM|Noam|same||noamc@aol.com||||10|People are rarely caught the
first time they do something wrong. For example, if a guy is a thief he might
have stolen 15 times before the cops finally catch up with him.And then
they probably get off at court 40% of the times they are charged, so, in the
end, one conviction for stealing probably occurs every 30 to 40 times the thief
has stolen something.Same for using or selling narcotics, rapes, drunk
driving, frauds, ........ and hitting your girlfriend. I think the only crime
this scenario probably isn't true with is murder.Regarding the huge
media scrutiny given to guys like OJ, I think it is because journalism is no
longer confined to just reporting the facts. Journalists today all have an
opinion and, rather than just reporting the apparent truth of a story, stories
are instead written to propagate the journalists own personal view on the
issue. You then find journalists taking sides and they report the most
miniscule of news trying to prove themselves right and the opposition wrong. On
top of that, newspaper owners have their own agendas/biases that influences the
reporters they employ. We only have to look at the bias in political stories
happening today (Don Rather, CNN, etc.)which is not fair and balanced like, say,
Bill O'Reilly. I think Frazier is mostly a decent guy, but he is very
bitter about his losses to Ali and seems to feel that history has unfairly
relegated him a few notches lower on the legends scale than he believes is
fair.He probably has a lot of built up frustrations that he takes out on
others. Also, I thought Joe was married but I've heard it said many times that
he has more than just one extra girlfriend. Has he converted to Islam ?|
elections, God bless America, from the bottom of my heart !You are a great
and noble country !!!! Never fascism, never comunism, never colonies, always
democracy and freedom ! God bless Alabama, Texas, Oregon, Tennesee, New Jersey,
Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Connecticut (PANT,PANT...)and all the other states(
mostly California, because California is California...).Oh say, can you
see...(I don't know the rest).Oh|
|11/2/04 06:31:53 PM|Angelo|DC||funktron@yahoo.com||||10|Massimo: Yes,America
is a great place, it truly is. My Grandparents and many other relatives came
here from Italy (Palermo) with very little. All they wanted was the freedom to
work, save and build a better life for their children and they succeeded. I
don't know how Europe views the U.S., but I can tell you that regardless of who
the President is now or tomorrow---most American people are generally very good,
very generous, fair, kind hearted and just trying to make it in life. I think
that sometimes, we get a bad rap. It might be that some Americans are arrogant
and flaunt their wealth around the world, but I can guarantee you that most of
us are not like that.Noam: You're on target with your views on crime and
prosecution as well as media. The Dan Rather/60 Minutes piece on Bush was
ridiculous and so was Rather's explanation in the aftermath. Instead of
apologizing, he tried to rationalize that even though CBS used bogus documents
to break a story---it still might be true, so who cares if the documents were
bogus. Huh? Is he nuts? |
