actions often do little to elicit sympathy, but the man is a smart and extremely
troubled boy/man, and in many ways a very tragic - possibly self destructive -
figure. He may no longer know how, or possess the wherewithal to be the sort of
socially accepatable, and media cuddly person the sports public likes to like.
Tyson may have already gone around the bend to ghost town, and the point of no
return. He's certain to fight again, and will win some, because talent-wise,
he's one of the very best elite who's ever stepped in a ring. Inexplicably, I've
always had a sort of soft spot for the man, against all odds, and hope he does
well, makes a few million, and manages it wisely, living the rest of his life in
some peace. It's unfortunate that listening to him, one can begin to detect the
effects of too many landed punches. A nice financial nest egg can soften that
some (ask Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier), but I question now his ever finding
peace from the demons...|

for Tyson? He was disloyal and unappreciative to the people who took him out of
the gutter and carefully guided him to the top. Loyalty is loyalty and don't
give me any of that "social graces" crap. |

you cut to the bottom line, what you just said pretty much sums it up. I think
my "soft spot" for Tyson is the frustration of "what could have been" if Tyson
DID have loyalty and good common sense. As a person with average athletic
skills, it kills me to see someone who is so gifted waste their potential for
all the wrong reasons. But you hit the nail on the head---let's save our
sympathy for someone who deserves it, not a guy who has carelessly wasted his
opportunities. It's about taking responsibility for your decisions and actions.
He was an adult who bolted away from seemingly decent people to align with Don
King. Don King can say what he wants about black and white, but everyone knows
he's all about green! Even now, if Tyson managed to somehow clean up his act
and went on the straight and narrow, he could compete and win. |

With Jerry and Charlie(Arlene Charles)was either MARCH OR APRIL issue of
1974,they were officially married August 29th 1973 in Las Vegas two days before
that QUARRY-WOODY bout I saw, Eddie Futch was even there scouting JQ. Yes she
was a fox who was a former MISS INDIANA.I know they were at least married until
1979 the dates of which Jerry was putting on clebrity tennis tournaments for
children with cystic fibrosis.I really do not know the date they were
divorced,Jerry had a singing gig at Caesars Palace called "JERRY QUARRY WITH
PLEASURE" and later bartended at a little club called the "STAGE DOOR" a place I
used to go a lot to.Of course it was after Jerry was there.I knew Mike
Personally to where I used to call him in BAKERSFIELD IN 1980-81.But Jerry I
think we could be on the opposite ends of the revolving doors at the Las Vegas
Hilton,and still miss each other HA! HA!|

together,Jerry had a third child by his third wife Tina who was also from Las
Vegas.And I believe is either a cocktail waitress or bar manager at the club
Monaco.Kent said the kid,a son named Jonathan I believe,is really well built
like Jerry.Jerry Lynn and Kerry is JQ's other children|

Jobnathan Quarry is a big strapping young man but I doubt he will go into
boxing. I don't know this for sure but it is a feeling I have. If his
grandmother, Arwanda, has anything to say about it, he won't. I remember last
year at an event Bobby Quarry helped promote, a fan asked Arwanda if Bobby's son
Sammy, only three years old, was going to be the next Quarry in the
ring?Arwanda told the fan this, "there is going to be no more brain
damage in this family!" I haven't asked him but I have a feeling Bobby
