Quarry family is giving us this forum and I think I speak for most of the people
who post here---we love the site and appreciate the opportunity to log on and
chat. Also, it's great when members of the Quarry family stop by to comment,
keeping alive a link to Jerry and James for all the fans.Yes, after
Jerry beat Shavers, he was primed for a title shot. I think it was hard for him
to get motivated for Frazier. Joe had already beaten him once and it seemed as
though Jerry had nothing to gain by taking this fight. He had earned the right
to fight for the title and instead, he gets put in against Smokin' Joe. I wish
Jerry would have taken on a lower rung fighter or two to kill some time before
forcing a fight with Big George. Of course, by that time, Ali might have
regained his belt, setting up a third Quarry-Ali fight. Ahhh....what could have
been. |
!||||10|I think that prime vs prime Cassio Marcello would have beaten Lennoxo.
But I also think that the Lewis who humiliated Tyson would have whupped the
Cassio Marcello who fought Spinks and even the 190 lbs guy who fought people
like Jones, Miteff, Banks, Lavorante or Clark. When Cassio was 18 years old, he
wasn't even a heavyweight. Clay's lowest weight as a professional was against
Alessandro Miteff ( 85.3 Kg ). At 18 years of age Lennoxo was already a
heavyweight. For instance, Doug Jones was a very good fighter, but I think
Lennoxo would have destroyed him in two rounds.Gerry SchultzI'm
so sorry but I don't know James Le Bron'sshoe size. This is my fault and I
feel like s--t for this. What I know for sure is that he is exactly as tall as
Coolidge ( 6' 8", of course ). Now I have a question for you: what's Warren
Coolidge' s shoe size ? I already know that I' ll never know Andre' the Midget
's( he was about 5' 8" ) true shoe size. |
Foreman? Dreams of victory in Ali-Quarry 3? Sure, and if pigs had wings, they'd
be eagles. Slaughters, both. |
bro. Angelo, where were you when BK was carrying on with his foul language and
smut ? Others had to come in and protest. You said nothing, man. Read my posts.
I was the one saying keep it polite and smut-free. Maybe you should be more
inclusive, otherwise it's just gonna be Curly, Moe and Ritchie posting here. I'm
trying to be cool, G-Man. Ya mamma's very wise. |
|4/28/04 04:47:44 PM|Kent |La Habra, Ca||kentallenent@aol.com||||10|As I have
said numerous times, Jerry had a style that would have given him a chance
against Foreman but I think Foreman wins this one in a much tougher fight than
most of the public would have expected. After all, Foreman had kayoed both
Frazier and Norton, both in the second round and the public would have thought
he would do the same to Jerry. It is too bad Jerry had so many tough
fights early in his career as he was already a worn out fighter before he even
reached the age of thirty. If Jerry had an easier time early on, he would
have been 32 in early 1978, when lucky L. Spinks was in the right place at the
right time. Massismo if Spinks beat Ali at that stage in Ali's career, Jerry
would have won easily if he had any of the skills he had earlier in his career
left. Most of the top heavyweights from the last thirty years would have beaten
Ali on the night Leon did. I just wish it would have Jerry who did it instead
of Leon.|
