percent correct. Everyone should post using their correct name - if only the
first one - and also a correct e-mail address. As you know, Kent, mine is
correct. I know that yours is too. Perhaps RS (or whoever she really is) should
be just as responsible. RS enjoys the bickering. Over the last few days she's
been asked by several posters - 3 or 4 I think - to stop the accusations. But
she continues, enjoying the resentment and hurt she causes. We had Koo Koo
posting that he doesn't enjoy visiting here as much and now does it less often.
I am the same. The atmosphere created by RS with her accusations has diminished
the enjoyment here. Her ridiculous posts are attracting loonies. She thinks she
owns the site, and can say what she likes, despite what one of the hosts here
said a day or two ago. A friend of Emile Griffith even wrote of the upset RS
caused with her comments, but she quickly repeated the hurtful information. |
of what to write, not write, who is offended, who is doing name calling, etc.,
is getting ponderous. Lately, it seems as though there are more posts
chastising people instead of keeping a dialogue going about boxing. My idea is
that if someone's post bothers you, simply ignore it. It makes no sense and
serves no purpose to write volumes about it. Let's stick with boxing/boxers and
the foundation efforts, and maybe a few other topics to spice it up, but let's
just ignore what we don't like about people's personalities/opinions. It'll
make the site more interesting and constructive. |
) Fine with me. Every page has this sort, who've never bothered me anyway. They
aren't annoying, they aren't amusing, they aren't hurtful, they're
just...invisible. Here's a ~boxing~ topic of a different sort. No one at other
boxing sites talk about Jerry Quarry except once in a blue moon, and then
they're usually JQ-specific fans. Thus is the case with anyone who didn't hold
the title. Lyle is rarely talked about, same with Young, Chuvalo, even
Patterson, a little more Norton (I believe he held IBF belt), more Shavers (due
to his power), and so forth. And no one ever mentions non-heavy title contenders
at all, or ones from any other time. So... "Jerry Quarry would have held the
title in other eras" is an oft repeated maxim by his fans. OK, which one? Which
champion(s) from other times woule he have beaten? Some pretty bad motor
scooters all the way back, with few breaks in the tough road...|
Chamberlain of course couldn't shoot three pointers but then again in his era,
nobody could as there was no such thing as a three pointer because any regular
basket from anywhere on the court was worth two points. Wilt though could not
shoot well beyond about 12 feet from the basket and he was, like Shaq, a
terrible free throw shooter.Things that Wilt could do better than Shaq
were, Wilt was very good at pivoting on one foot and feinting his opponents out
of postion and he also held the ball in his hands and moved it from hand to hand
