Tyson,Foreman,Shavers.These were guys who could take some early pressure,and
they hit so hard that you had to be more than a straight ahead ,poor defensive
fighter.Otherwise,you would get your head handed to you.|
Tua never got knocked out in his entire professional career. He lost on points
against Byrd, Lewis and Ibeabuchi. He can be outboxed by a wilter fighter, but
not easily knocked out. David Tua is a very good heavyweight.|
DOWN LIKE HE DOES EVERYONE ELSE.|
|5/27/06 10:26:31 AM|Earnie Shavers|Wolverhampton, England||...||||10|It is nice
to see Jerry is remebered. I will have to say the only guy that really knocked
me out was Quarry. Against Lyle I just flat punched myself out. Same thing
really against Ron Standers and Big Tex. Holmes was more an accumulation of
punsihment and exhaustion. I was overconfident after Ellis and thought Quarry
would just be another stepping stone. I still remember falling against the
ropes wondering how all this was happening as the Garden was going crazy for
Jerry. It was the low point of my career. Well, cheers, I am living in
England now and want to wish all you fans thank you for remembering.|
|5/27/06 12:17:15 PM|Kent|Murrieta, Ca||kentallenent@aol.com||||10|Welcome
Earnie Shavers! You are a credit to boxing and it is good you are doing well
over in England.Thank you for paying your respects to Jerry and yes he
is remembered and you will always be remembered as well.|
|5/27/06 01:17:07 PM|Walter Santemore|New York||.||||10|But Earnie, what about
your losses to Bob Stallings, Stan Johnson, and me, the great Walter Santemore?|
|5/27/06 01:27:58 PM|Massimo|Roma||4||||10|Welcome Earnie Shavers! For we boxing
fans it's great to have (or having) the hardest puncher of all time on here. I'd
love to see all of your fights but unfortunately I have only seen the Quarry
fight and your final uppercut against Ellis. Congratulations for your boxing
career and thank you for your nice words. |
|5/27/06 01:41:53 PM|Steve|NJ||NA||||10|I''d be surprised if that was really
Ernie Shavers.PLEASE require registration on this site.I'll pay a fee to
converse with all the regulars.ANGELO,Jimmy D.,MASSIMO,Kent,who responds to any
quack who happens to stumble on to this site,AND ANYONE ELSE WHO IS A FOR REAL
PERSON,NOT SOME NEUROTIC,PRETENDING TO BE THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE.|
|5/27/06 02:13:02 PM|steve |NJ||NA||||10|Massimo,sorry for the incorrect info.
on TUA.I still dont understand your confidence in him. |
|5/27/06 08:23:39 PM|Steve|NJ||buttfuck||||10|Sorry Masimo|
|5/27/06 11:09:51 PM|Kent|Murrieta, Ca||kentallenent@aol.com||||10|Steve, I
really do think it is Earnie because he does live in England and he didn't sound
like he was some sort of weirdo. He sounded humble and he gave credit where
credit is due.I have never met Earnie but from what I have heard he is a
good guy, down to earth and easy to talk to, you know like Jerry was, one of the
guys and not full of himself.But even registering wouldn't guarantee
that people are who they say they are as anyone can register under any name.
Around 2001 George Foreman actually posted here and Mr. Jimmy said it
was really him so why not Earnie too?I could probably find out if it
really is Earnie and if I think of it when I talk to one of my contacts in the
business I will let you know.|
|5/28/06 03:48:23 AM|Massimo|Roma||4||||10|Steve-I'm not a Tua fan but I
recognize he has a devastating punch and a chuvalian chin. He is very good for a
177 cm heavyweight. He is an exciting fighter.|
|5/30/06 11:56:44 AM|Angelo|Washington, DC||funktron||||10|I hope Earnie checks
back in with us. It's an honor if that really was Mr. Shavers who
posted.Kent---maybe he can tell us how he thinks he would have performed
