won't fight that f----g animal". I also know that when Tyson was a teenager, he
used to watch often the Foreman-Frazier first fight and he tought that George
Edward was really scaring. Tyson-Louis ? I don't know, but let me say that if
Joe Louis knocked out Carnera in the way he did he couldn't be too bad
!Tonight I saw Vasilij "The Tiger" Jirov vs Forrest "Clifford is my
hero" Neal. Neal had no desire to fight and so Jirov won easily by KOT 3. I
also saw Bowe vs Zumbrun and...My God, Riddick is a shell of the fighter he used
to be. He weighted 280 lbs for this fight, heavier than Wilt was.|
problem with a lot of medications is they have side effects and if medicine
Tyson was supposed to take affected his abilities in the ring, then I understand
why he didn't want to take them.Massimo, Teddy Atlas left Cus' training
camp after Tyson made inapproiate advances on Teddy's niece and he reportedly
threatened Tyson with a gun. this is before Tyson turned pro. Kevin Rooney then
took over as trainer Cus died around Tyson's tenth pro fight but people
forget that Jimmy Jacobs, who took over as manager, was also like a father
figure to Tyson, also died not long afterwards. Some big blows to Tyson's
fragile mental state.Don King and Tyson's wife entered the scene around
this time and this is when he started to go down hill.Tyson did some bad
things in his life and he even stated that he would never admit to raping that
girl he went to jail for, but he had done things worse in his life before that
he didn't get caught for so he figured he deserved to be in jail. Makes me
wonder what he did. Did he kill someone?Boxing was the one thing that
kept Tyson focused and away from doing bad things away from the ring (for
awhile) and when his personal life interfered with boxing, that is also when he
was not as good as a fighter anymore.|
post repeated six times. It was a problem with me and my computer.Foreman and
Tyson would have been a great fight.A hard one to pick.I'd go with Foreman based
on his ability to take a knockdown punch, and get up.Foreman took a fearsome
beating from a guy named Steward, and never quite.Even though their weights were
close, which was strange, considering their completely different body types,I
think Foreman was much stronger and had a much longer reach to through those
heavy bombs.I'd have to question Tyson's ability to take a punch from George. |
stammering ? If so, you are over-medicated.I don't think Tyson stood a
chance against Ali. One of Tyson's former cornermen - I think it was Rooney -
was once asked how Tyson would have gone against Ali. He answered that Ali would
have broken Tyson's spirit by round 7.I believe that is an accurate
assessment. Ali would have proved much too mentally tough. Tyson was soft in
that department. In my opinion, Ali would have won a lopsided points decision.
Tyson had the weapons to hurt Ali, and probably would have, but Ali's jaw would
be too dependable for a knockout. Still, it would have been a great fight to
watch.|
fight:Luan Krasniqui vs Lance WhitakerI have seen Krasniqui fight
and I think he can hold his own with the "best" in the heavyweight division.
Lance is only (or just) an inch shorter than Kent's friend from Boston.A
question for you all: who won the gold medal in the heavyweight division in Roma
1960 Olimpics ? Of course it wasn't that bum Cassius Marcellus Clay, who (or
that) won in the flyweight division.|
|5/28/05 09:56:49 AM|Bob Bumbera|NC||renfbera@aol.com||||10|I did get Brewster's
weight wrong sorry...he is still a big guy though. Maybe with today's training
techniques Jerry would be coming in at around 215 or 220 or so and with the
added strenth he would certainly be in the top 4 or five today. Did anyone see
the Dale Brown - O'Neil Bell fight. What do you think about the decision? |
