your subject. It's just that Pryor and Argeello was won of the most interesting
and suspicious fights I've ever seen.Just to give you my by no means expert
opinion. At 130 lbs.He would have slowed up Nelson, and stopped him in the latter
rounds.Chavez would have had his hands full with Arguello at any weight.I,m
sorry,but that's a dream fight that I just can't figure out a call on.|
Football have seriously shaken my confidence in both of you in respect to your
judgment. The Eagles will come roaring back this season.I'm especially
dissapointed in you ,Angelo, since you grew up around here.|
|5/20/06 09:13:10 PM|Kent|Halfway bewteen Los Angeles and San Diego.||same as
before||||10|Steve, sorry but I got some enjoyment on saying last season to my
buddy from Philly, "how about those Eagles?" I heard about how at the beginning
of last season about how they were going all the way but that didn't pan out.
But of course it is a new season and anything can happen, even the Eagles
winning the superbowl. The world is always ready for miracles! It is
amazing how my Philly buddy rooted for the Steelers in the last superbowl. I
didn't think he even like them. Of course I had to root for the Seahawks!|
the Eagles falling apart hurts my feelings.I can forgive you, because that't what
Pro Football is all about. The sheer joy of busting your friends chops when their
team blows it and you collect your money.Of course, your need to finish him off
emotionally by picking the Seahawks seems a bit unwarrented.|
fantasy fights.Chavez v Nelson: Chavez won his first 90 fights
and had 36 world title fights. He had an explosive hook and was a terrific body
puncher. Had a habit of finding ways to win like he did in the last 2 seconds of
the fight against Meldrick Taylor.Nelson was called 'The Professor' and
he wasn't dumb. Won 39 out of his 46 fights. Beat Sanchez to win the title at
just his 14th professional fight. Fought a lucky draw against Fenech (albeit
when he was sick and soon after the death of his wife, if I recall rightly) but
came back and knocked Fenech out.The Ring Magazine has Chavez 18th on
its all time list to Nelson at 65th. Chavez would find a way to win a tought
fight.Chavez v Arguello.Arguello is rated only two places behind
Chavez at 20th by The Ring Magazine.Arguello turned pro at age 16 and
won 80 of his 88 contests (including an unwise comeback). He was beaten twice
in his first five years. He knocked out the legendary Ruben Olivares and had
explosive power. Very tough fight. Arguello would hurt Chavez several
times but wouldn't be able to stop an in-prime Chavez. I believe that Chavez
would win a tough decision.Oh, and I'd pick Arguello over Nelson. |
a dog. I love dogs and regret not having one. I sometimes visit friends just to
play with their dog! If there's a more loyal and pleasant being on this planet
then I haven't met it. Rotweilers are usually less trusting than spaniels, but
are always better fighters. In a couple of days I won't be on the
internet as I have to cut back on finances after a change in employment
circumstances. It's been a pleasure communicating with wise boxing fans
and decent people like Massimo, Steve, Angelo, and Kent, to name just a few.
And, of course, the Quarrys are all legends and they deserve our respect and
support. To the posters I annoyed: it seemed like a spontaneous good idea
in the heat of 'battle', but much less so in hindsight. For the times I was
wrong, I apologise - if I haven't already done so. (But I won't plead guilty to
deliberately making racist comments because I didn't do it.)If I can
find some work, I'll pop back in and say 'hello'. In the meantime, good health
and happiness to you all. (And Kent: keep that diet and exercise
going!)|
