hear about brenda. i never got to see the donahue show. who all was on the
program and what was it about? i also read somewhere where a movie on jerry is
being done and it will be titled 'hard luck' anything to this?|

post thanks to Jimmy D. Your lasting mailing of JQ info was very interesting.
Jerry was ranked very high and got two shots, Jimmy Ellis and Joe Frazier. He
was number two for nearly a year after that and could not meet anyone except
Muhammed Ali. The Chuvalo fiasco aside, he should have met Joe again much
sooner, especially given his performance in the first fight with Joe. After
slaying Lyle and Shavers, only Norton and Frazier were available as big fights,
no one seeming to want to mess with him. In his Superstars interview, a
frustrated Quarry already seems ready to hang 'em up. It can be argued that
Quarry never needed Ali, certainly not twice. An earlier rematch with Joe and a
shot with Foreman, as long ago argued, would have been fairer to JQ than what he
got by the mid-70s. Ellis and Chuvalo were huge disappointments, but Quarry was
simply better after that. Thanks again Jimmy D, great reading. |

the Letters forum and begin a new one. I have to test the software, but my plan
is to create an archive for all the letters, and of course preserve all the
