don't hold Holmes's 'jock strap' comment against him either. It was something
said in the heat of the moment and I think he regretted it. Looking at his
career, Holmes was a credit to boxing with no atrocities in or out of the ring.
A few words shouldn't condemn him.ErnieYou sound like you'd be a
fun guy to have a drink with, but my 'gut' tells me that you've had a head start
on the rest of us. I might go open the fridge and gulp down a few 'Jacks and ice
doubles' and when I catch up I might know what the hell you are going on
about.Jeepers, we've gone from Jerry Quarry to wars and invasions and
military training and then masturbation to gibbering in Latin in just a few
sentences and I'm scratching my head. Although I'm dizzy, I enjoyed trying to
understand what you meant. |
mia famiglia non ci sono grandi atleti. Siamo tutti piccoli, deboli e...
Pacifici ! Le scarpe piu' grandi che puoi trovare a casa mia sono n.41.Credo
che Francesca Piccinini sia la piu' carina tra le ragazze italiane che
partecipano alle Olimpiadi.TRASLATION-Earnie-There aren't
great athletes in my family. We are all small, weak and...Pacific !The
biggest shoe size you can find in my home is 8. I think that Francesca Piccinini
is probably the cutest Italian girl in the Olimpics.|
my name is not that common, there are a few more with it than me and I have
known several. You are referring to Clark Kent, AKA Superman and I am no
superman by any stretch of the imagination!Ernie, while I don't agree
with some of the things you say, I would be disappointed if you left as we need
some disagreement here. It is no fun when all we do is write in patting each
other on the back.Brenda, if you happen to check in, ask Bob Q to call
me. He gave me his cell phone number but I think I lost it. It might be among
the papers on the floor surrounding my desk. Great filing system, that is!|
|8/14/04 12:39:34 PM|Fran|Philly||plc7755@aol.com||||10|Ernie....You slickly
twisted the the whole thing about Jerry. You initially said Jerry could never
beat Ali and expect me to believe that. Jerry had the God given talent to beat
Ali. Ali was just a man. To say Ali was some God is bullshit and you know it. I
know Jerry thought he could beat Ali when they first fought and it wouldn't have
been a win by todays standard. It was a fight with no ending. Remember Jerry was
in that fight to win. You say he could never win against Ali...thats bullshit
even Ali knew jerry was dangerous. Ali didn't underestimate him what gives you
(a chump who badmouths people from the internet) the right to do so. Like Ali
used to say "who'd you ever whup"? I do not badmouth others on this site but for
you I make an exception. |
CALIFORNIA||RONNYRAINS@YAHOO.COM||||10|ERNIE: MY BIGGEST FAN! HEY HOW COME YOU
NEVER MENTIONED JUAN MARICHAL? OR DENNY MCLAIN who won 108 games in a five year
period OR SEAVER? KENT EMAIL ME I HAVE SOME VERY DIRE NEWS FOR YOU. IF I DON'T
GET BACK TO YOU TOO QUICKLEY, I WILL FOR SURE FOR ITS HARD FOR ME NOW TO GET TO
A COMPUTER (LIBRARIES),EVERYONE I'VE EVER TALKED TO WHO IS ACTUALLY IN THE
BOXING BUSINESS SAY JERRY WAS A GREAT FIGHTER NO DOUBT ABOUT IT,AND THE ONES
WHOM ARE NOT IN THE BUSINESS OR KNOW NOTHING (COSELL) WERE JERRY'S BIGGEST
DESTRACTORS. I do not know if Jerry would have beaten Norton or not, but they
say Quarry knocked him cold sparring in 1970 in California. You never know,Norton
was sure confident of winning and wasn't too big on giving Jerry a whole lot of
credit. Jerry had a blood vessel in his eye hemorrged, and did not quit.you talk
about painful, but he came out throwing bombs.|
|8/14/04 06:21:53 PM|Timana|Auckland||kiwi@hotmail.com||||10|ErnieI'd
have to agree somewhat with Fran. Quarry was not one of the all time greats in
terms of pure ability, but his bravery and will-to-win was as strong as anyone
in history and that is what made him dangerous to all - including Ali.
