assure you all that our present administration, which operates on the basis of popular democracy, the rule of law,
transparency and accountability, has the political will to join hands with all other Member States of UNESCO in
attaining the national as well as the global goals of this Organization. We are therefore counting on your support
in securing for us a seat on the Executive Board, through which Nigeria promises to vigorously promote the
ideals of UNESCO and to serve the common interests of mankind. Mr President, long live the ideals
encapsulated in UNESCO’s multifaceted philosophy! Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you all for listening.
