40.1 The PRESIDENT:
I thank the Chairperson of the Credentials Committee. I must say that not only was this presentation
excellent but that the Committee has worked with admirable speed. To hear the names of the countries thus
enumerated in alphabetical order, which puts countries from different parts of the world next to each other, is
both impressive and moving. Does anyone wish to comment on the report? I see no one. The General Conference
thus takes note of the first report of the Credentials Committee.
40.2. I wish to make a small remark before adjourning the meeting. I must say that the recommendation
concerning a change in procedure for the election of officials, suggested by the core group in close cooperation
with the Secretariat of the General Conference, has markedly expedited the whole proceedings. We now come to
the end of the second plenary meeting and we shall all meet here tomorrow at 10 a.m. I thank everybody for their
attention and their time and should like to add that you are welcome to stay in this room for the forthcoming
event. The meeting stands adjourned.
