Gracias, señora Presidenta: Seré breve, siguiendo su recomendación, pero sin dejar por ello de felicitar
al Presidente de la Comisión III por la calidad de su informe. La Delegación de México participó en los trabajos
de la Comisión y apoyó en su momento la aprobación de los Estatutos tal y como fueron presentados por la
Asamblea de la COI. En este sentido, mi delegación comparte la opinión que ha expresado el distinguido
Delegado de Argentina de que debe mantenerse el texto aprobado por dicha Comisión. Muchísimas gracias,
señora Presidenta.

Thank you, Madam President. I shall be brief, as you asked, but I must nonetheless congratulate the
Chairperson of Commission III on the quality of his report. The delegation of Mexico took part in the
Commission’s proceedings and, at the time, supported the approval of the Statutes exactly as they were presented
by the IOC Assembly. Therefore my delegation agrees with the distinguished delegate of Argentina that we should
keep the text as approved by the Commission. Thank you very much, Madam President.

Спасибо г-жа Председатель. Я прежде всего хотел бы поздравить Председателя с прекрасным
докладом о работе III Комиссии и полностью поддержать его выступление в отношении вопроса,
который поднят сейчас. Мы хотели бы также полностью подписаться под выступлением представителя
Аргентины, Канады и всех тех, кто считает, что текст пересмотренного Устава необходимо сохранить в
той редакции, которая была принята на Ассамблее МОК. Спасибо.

Thank you, Madam President. I should first of all like to congratulate the Chairperson for his fine report
on the work of Commission III and to express full support for his statement concerning the issue that has now been
raised. We also fully subscribe to the statements by the delegates of Argentina and Canada and all those who
consider that the text of the revised Statutes must be retained with the wording as adopted at the IOC Assembly.

Muchas gracias, señora Presidenta: Agradezco en primer lugar al Presidente de la Comisión III la gran
claridad con que expuso el tema. Hay, por lo demás, un aspecto procesal y otro de fondo. En lo procesal, mi
delegación cree que el texto de los Estatutos de la COI modificados deberían mantenerse tal y como fueron
aprobados por la 20ª Asamblea General de la COI, cuya competencia está fuera de toda duda y que está además
integrada por expertos que aprobaron el texto después de un largo y exhaustivo debate, teniendo en cuenta todos
los equilibrios necesarios para satisfacer legítimos intereses. Por ello creemos que reabrir este debate el último
día, cuando se adopta el informe de la Comisión III, supone en cierta manera menoscabar el importante trabajo
de la Asamblea de la COI y de la propia COI, cuya notable labor no debe ser perturbada. En cuanto a la cuestión
de fondo, creemos que el texto del Artículo 2, en la forma en que figura en el documento 30 C/63 Add., da
perfecta cabida a los intereses de los países que han apoyado la enmienda presentada por Tonga, por lo que
resultaría innecesario modificar o calificar su texto. Para no reabrir un debate técnico ya cerrado, insistimos en
que se adopte el texto tal y como ha sido presentado. Gracias, señora Presidenta.
