Madam President, Namibia pays tribute to Professor Federico Mayor, the outgoing Director-General of
UNESCO for the tremendous efforts he has made to preserve and keep on track the essential mission of
UNESCO. We in Namibia shall forever cherish your official visit to our country two years ago, especially your
visit to a village in the far North of Namibia, the name of which you have been able to pronounce correctly
although it is usually difficult for foreigners to spell only a few letters. For the audience, ladies and gentlemen,
the name of this village is ONAMUNAMA, which is today, since that visit, a solar demonstration community.
