Organic thin films have significant impact on flexible electronics. These materials
require low energy and low cost of deposition and processing. In this work, we
report the deposition of two terphenyls thin films using two deposition
techniques, spin coating and spray pyrolysis. Deposition parameters such as
time and temperature were evaluated, as well as the multilayer structure. In
order to study the optical and microstructural properties visible-ultraviolet,
photoluminescence and atomic force microscopy techniques were used to
characterize the films. The results obtained show that the optical and
microstructural properties are dependent on the molecular packing. The final
properties obtained in the organic molecule thin films make them suitable
candidates for optoelectronics and flexible device applications.
