One of the most common methodologies for the control of corrosion has been
the development of corrosion inhibitors. Electrochemical techniques play an
important role in determining the efficiency of such inhibitors. The increase of
the charge transfer resistance or the abatement of the double layer capacity can
be determined.
Electrochemical Noise may inform us in a simple way the variations of the
efficiency of an inhibitor, but it also contains information about the dynamics of
the formation of the film. Previous research has shown that the electrochemical
dynamic is non-linear and a very suitable tool for the study of this type of
information are the Recurrence Plots.
The objective of this research was to show the formation of an inhibitory layer
of 2,6-Bis [((2-pyridylmethyl) oxy) methyl])] pyridine that has an anomalous
behavior. By means of Recurrence Plots the formation of the film and the
changes suffered by the characteristics of the molecule can be demonstrate. The
typical parameters of the recursive graphs show critical conditions of film
formation and organization of the film.
