Upconversion emission enhancement with the addition of Yb 3+ and Li + ions in
nanocrystals of Y (OH) 3 : Er and Y 2 O 3 : Er under excitation at 980 and 1532 nm,
synthesized by the hydrothermal method are reported. We have extensively
investigated the luminescence evolution with the addition of ions co-dopants
and calcination temperature. Li + Incorporation in Ln 3+ - Y 2 O 3 phosphors with
thermal treatment at 1100 °C increase the luminescence 1759, 76, 124 times in
the emission green, red and infrared respectively with excitatión at 980nm and
the luminescence increase the luminescence red 0.68 times, the red and
infrared emission is constant with excitatión at 1532 nm. XRD shows thermally
treated Yttrium phosphors have to changes in the crystalline structure. SEM
micrograph exhibit a changed in the morphology from spheres to sheets with
the addition of ions dopants. FTIR spectra were used to monitor the
incorporation of Li-species in the phosphors.
