Silver nano particle fabricated by laser ablation (LA) process were optically
characterized and applied for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) . In
this work UV-VIS, SEM and digital image processing were used to know the
optical features of colloidal solution, substrate deposition and geometrical
aspects. Three different time of laser exposure were considering as protocol for
optical comparison measurement. The achieved sizes ranges 5 to 20 nm with
spherical shape. We were able to achieve SERS effect on rodhamine 6G (R6G),
an standard molecule, at 4 different concentrations: 10 -3 M, 10 -4 M, 10 -6 M and 10 -
8 M. In colloidal solution for longer exposure to laser time , more homogeneous
particle distribution and better SERS sensitive were obtained.
