experiments in the presence of DNA resulting in values of 85, 85, and 80% for<br />

the DNA-GS-4, DNA-GS-6, and DNA-GS-14 complexes, respectively. All obtained<br />

results, especially those of size and cytocompatibility, confirm the great<br />

potential of GS´s for a tentative use as gene carriers. In general, the smaller the<br />

length of the spacer the better the properties of the GS´s under study.<br />
