This work compares the properties of zinc oxide (ZnO) fabricated as thin films
using different techniques namely, sol-gel, dip coating, and sputtering. The
physical properties like structural, optical, and morphological were studied. The
structural results of all the ZnO thin films were of polycrystalline. The optical
transmittance curves showed differences in the average transmittances of the
ZnO thin films. The morphological characteristics were completely different with
respect to the deposition technique. The sol-gel route resulted in the formation
of nano grains of size between 50-85 nm. The dip-coated ZnO thin films were
found with nanoparticles of size variations in the range of 20-50 nm. The
sputtered films were grown with nano cones.
