Thermoresponsive polymeric micelles constituted by Triton-X-100 nonionic
surfactant were employed for the extraction of metallic ions of a watery
environment where the temperature effect and salt addition was explored from
points of view theoretical and experimental points. In the theoretical and
experimental study, we analyze the formation of Triton-X-100 micelles,
thermoresponsive micellar phase behavior load, and stabilization of dithizone
molecules and metallic ions extraction inside the micellar core. The thermal
analysis outcomes confirm the solubility of the copper-dithizone complex in the
micellar core, as well as the extraction of metallic ions of aqueous environment
via a cloud-point. The thermoresponsive micellar systems with salt exhibit a
temperature abatement of 5 degrees in its critical extraction temperature
(cloud-point). All micellar phase behavior stages in the extraction process of
metallic ions are discussed and analyzed.
