The Global Network of Mexicans Abroad (RGMX) is conceived as a global
network with the participation of highly qualified Mexican migrant community,
that lives abroad and allows the articulation of projects for the benefit of Mexico.
The Dallas chapter (RTM-Dallas) mainly promotes the generation,
development/exchange of knowledge and human resources between Mexico
and the world for the strengthening of science and technology, through linking
programs between both regions. It serves as a link between Mexican students
and researchers to the world through the RGMX that has more than 50 chapters
in 25 countries. During this presentation we will talk about the different projects
that are currently carried out in the network and the interaction that exists with
Mexican institutions. We will talk about the appropriate strategies for research
groups to maintain a balance between "basic science" and "applied science" that
encourage attractive projects for the industry and its application for the benefit
of the society, while continuing promoting the fundamental science to the
students.
