The recoverable residues are those materials that after their service life can be
used for other purposes. This research focuses on the reuse of paper as
valuable residue, this was mixed with an extract the xerophytic opuntia bigelovii,
the resulting product was a moldable material that was used to create imitation
stone panels in buildings. The moldable material was manufactured with paper
and the extract of opuntia bigelovii mixed with water in a ratio of four to one
liters, the process consisted in the impregnation of paper with this mixture, then
squeezed to easy molded, the dimensions of the molds were 12 cm, 30 cm y 3
cm, wide, long y tick respectively. The moldable material left to dry for three
days, then it was handcrafted to simulate the desired appearance. The finished
product was tested for compression and compared with similar product but
without impregnation, the first showed an increase of 35.7% in compression
resistance.
