CRTC3 is a gene involved in lipid metabolism. Recently, several researches have
demonstrate the relation between some single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP)
in this gene and metabolic alterations in humans. The aim of this study was to
investigate the effect of CRTC3 siRNA, to test the hypothesis that it could
increased the lipolysis in human adipocytes cultures. Also, we evaluated the
toxicity of amorphous silica nanoparticles and its capability for CRTC3 siRNA
delivery. Our preliminary results suggest the direct effect of CRTC3 in the
lipolysis pathway; CRTC3 siRNA increases the lipolysis rate. Also, we found a very
low toxicity of the amorphous silica nanoparticles in human adipocytes cultures.
