CENTER NITROGEN-VACANCY IN DIAMOND AS A SOLID STATE
QUBIT

The photophysics of color centers nitrogen-vacancy (NV) in diamond have
attracted interest during the last decade because of their possible application in
quantum information processing, quantum optics and nano-medicine (sensors).
Electron and nuclear spins associated in a single NV defect in diamond are very
promising qubit candidates because of the long coherence time and availability
of reliable control via well-established Electron Spin Resonance (ESR)-technique
[1–5]. By theoretical study, it seek to deepen the obtaining and characterization
of suitable levels present in NV center in order to initialize, manipulate and readout
it, with the purpose of developing a theoretical design for the solid-state
qubit.
