Nowadays new technologies have emerged as alternatives to regulate optical
and thermal performance in smart windows through the implementation of
accessible and low-cost materials. The purpose of this study is to analyze the
optical properties of Copper (CuS) and Silver (Ag2s) sulfide thin films developed
by sputtering and followed by a solid-vapor reaction. This procedure has certain
advantages due to its simplicity and low cost. Optical properties such as
absorbance and transmittance were obtained by UV-VIS spectroscopy. The
results in this study show that both CuS and Ag2S thin films are promising as
solar absorbers.
