In this work was studied the influence of process parameters on corrosion
behavior of friction-stir welded joints of aluminum alloy AA5052-H32. Evaluated
process parameters were rotational and welding speeds, which were selected
an adequate process window. The corrosion behavior was evaluated using an
electrochemical impedance test and potentiodynamic techniques applied in stir
region of each parameters combination set. Experimental evaluations were
complemented with microstructure and hardness measurements. Results
showed that increasing process parameters carried out an increasing of heat
input and stirring conditions, which it was correlated with an increase of
dynamical recrystallization state, improving corrosion behavior of stir region.
