CHARACTERIZATION OF THIN FILMS DOPED WITH GOLD<br />

In this work is presented the result of grow a thin film doped with gold<br />

nanoparticles with a sol-gel method and with the aid of a dip-coater. The results<br />

of the characterization of thin films are also presented, by UV-VIS<br />

spectrophotometry, FTIR and z-scan technique. With optical microscopy, the<br />

optical quality of the samples was determined. The Z-SCAN technique is used to<br />

characterize which third-order non-linear optical properties the sample<br />

contains. The results show that there are thin films of good optical quality; the<br />

films contain gold nanoparticles; finally, the films present non-linear absorption.<br />
