The functionalized composites were tested with good results as catalysts of the
oleic acid esterification reaction (90-100% conversion) and as adsorbents in the
retention of industrial wastewater pollutants (Methylene Blue, 320 mg/g - 420
mg/g; Pb 2 + , 15-75 mg/g). This process were monitored by techniques of
Adsorption in UV-Visible, Emission Spectrophotometry ICPOES and Gas
Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry.
Acknowledgment:
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to National Council of Science and
Technology (CONACYT PUEBLA) for the continuous economical support during
my studies. I would like to thank furthermore Dr. Efraín Rubio Rosas the
University Center for Linking and Transfer of Technology, BUAP (CUVyTT) and
Dr. Jorge Raúl Cerna Cortez of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, BUAP by
technical support for Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-
Ray Energy Dispersion Microanalysis (EDS), Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and
Emission Spectrophotometry (ICPOES).
Keywords: composite, surfactant, mesostructured.
