As part of the academic approach of the university to the industry, we have
implemented the geophysical methods of electrical tomography, induced
potential and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in the study of deposit and
mineralization environments in gold alluvial deposits in the northeast area of
the Department of Antioquia in Colombia. The results were validated based on
the geology of the study area, drilling records and subsequent exploitation. This
study methodology is proposed as an innovative way to exploit open-pit mineral
resources with environmental responsibility, because the geophysical data
taken on the surface allowed to determine the selective zones of mineral and
paleocanales deposits, results that can guide the mining exploitation.
