MANUFACTURING OF NiCoCrAlYTa COATINGS BY FLAME SPRAY<br />

In this work commercial NiCoCrAlYTa powder was used to manufacture coatings<br />

by combustion flame spray. This bond layer material is used to development<br />

thermal barrier coating. Set parameters as acetylene-oxygen gases ratio,<br />

“shooting” distance and powder feed<br />

rate were established. NiCoCrAlYTa thickness layers in the range 200 to 400 um<br />

were obtained. Scanning electron microscopy analysis shows that<br />

microstructure coatings is formed by typical lamellar-splat structure. X-Ray<br />

diffraction analysis of coatings shows that the relation β and γ phase is near to<br />

that powder feedstock. In this study it was demonstrated that it is possible<br />

to manufacture this type of coatings by combustion flame spraying technique.<br />

The coatings were characterized mean roughness (Ra ) and Vickers hardness.<br />
