More than ever, project management requires:
Getting to know one another is called learning, how different we are from one
another. [Christian Morgenstern, German author, 1871–1914, loosely translated]
This essay presents all the necessary activities for project management in a structured and
streamlined shape, so that the reader can take the most important steps in self study, and quickly
implement them into practice. In order to meet these requirements and give the project leaders
the best-possible assistance, the following paths are described in this work:

Chapter 2 deals with project management activities:
– Project start
– Project planning
– Project monitoring and control
– Project completion
which are described in detail.
These are the "red thread" through each project, and help the project manager to learn the basic
steps of project management. This process adheres to the quasi standards of the IPMA/GPM
(International Project Management Association) and PMI (Project Management Institute).
The project leader acquires knowledge in relation to the future success factors for his project:
– analyzing in a methodical way
– planning to achieve goals
– controlling effectively
– reporting in an understandable way
– documenting in a traceable manner
– and concluding successfully.
In order to make it easier for the reader to absorb what he has read, questions about each project
step are given at the end of this work.
