PM s<strong>of</strong>tware is usually used in order to visualize the course plan <strong>and</strong> scheduling.<br />

The outcome <strong>of</strong> course planning <strong>and</strong> scheduling is usually a column schedule (Gantt Chart). This<br />

plan is constructed in accordance with the project breakdown <strong>and</strong> contains all project sections, work<br />

packets, individual procedures <strong>and</strong> dependencies. Further on, the defi ned milestones are integrat-<br />

ed into the Gantt Chart <strong>and</strong>, if applicable, the project phases. The scheduling <strong>of</strong> all activities follows<br />

in which the milestone Project Start (PSP code 1.1) is set. The critical path can be determined from<br />

the schedule. This shows that all procedures on the critical path have no buffer, <strong>and</strong> a change in the<br />

duration <strong>of</strong> these procedures has an immediate effect on the date <strong>of</strong> the end <strong>of</strong> the project.<br />
