PM software is usually used in order to visualize the course plan and scheduling.

The outcome of course planning and scheduling is usually a column schedule (Gantt Chart). This
plan is constructed in accordance with the project breakdown and contains all project sections, work
packets, individual procedures and dependencies. Further on, the defi ned milestones are integrat-
ed into the Gantt Chart and, if applicable, the project phases. The scheduling of all activities follows
in which the milestone Project Start (PSP code 1.1) is set. The critical path can be determined from
the schedule. This shows that all procedures on the critical path have no buffer, and a change in the
duration of these procedures has an immediate effect on the date of the end of the project.
