2.1.4 PROJECT INFRASTRUCTURE<br />

The project manager <strong>and</strong> his core team are required to provide all substantive conditions <strong>and</strong><br />

equipment to carry out a project task. At this point, it is helpful if the core team is made up <strong>of</strong><br />

competent employees. An international team makes it easier for him to act at several sites at the<br />

same time. The project manager must set up the project's infrastructure at the start <strong>of</strong> a project.<br />

This includes, in particular:<br />

– Establishing the methods to be used<br />

– Establishing documentation st<strong>and</strong>ards<br />

– Establishing other adherence st<strong>and</strong>ards<br />

– Establishing the organizational communications <strong>and</strong> approval processes<br />

– Establishing the tools to be used.<br />

2.1.4.1 METHODS TO BE USED<br />

The project manager also determines the methods to be used in the project. These include:<br />

– Draft methods<br />

– Development methods<br />

– Analytical methods<br />

– Construction methods<br />

– Planning methods<br />

– Methods <strong>of</strong> calculation.<br />

The results can be comparable <strong>and</strong> transparent only if the same methods are used.
