2.1.4 PROJECT INFRASTRUCTURE

The project manager and his core team are required to provide all substantive conditions and
equipment to carry out a project task. At this point, it is helpful if the core team is made up of
competent employees. An international team makes it easier for him to act at several sites at the
same time. The project manager must set up the project's infrastructure at the start of a project.
This includes, in particular:
– Establishing the methods to be used
– Establishing documentation standards
– Establishing other adherence standards
– Establishing the organizational communications and approval processes
– Establishing the tools to be used.
2.1.4.1 METHODS TO BE USED
The project manager also determines the methods to be used in the project. These include:
– Draft methods
– Development methods
– Analytical methods
– Construction methods
– Planning methods
– Methods of calculation.
The results can be comparable and transparent only if the same methods are used.
