Graduated as Dipl.Ing.Physical Technology in Hamburg
1970. Advanced Management Programs at Cornell Uni-
versity, Harvard Business School, and School of Eco-
nomics, Köln.
Joined IBM Germany in 1970. Responsible for designing,
building and running advanced Semiconductor factories
for 23 years, up to Functional Level Manager, responsi-
ble for more than 300 people. Assigned to IBM USA for a
total of six years, working in R&D (1972), HQ (1982), and
as liason manager between USA and Germany (1987).
Quality Manager for IBM Germany Manufacturing, re-
sponsible for ISO9000 certification, TQM implementation
and Malcom Baldrige Assessment, implementation of a
Six Sigma Program, and participating in the Reengineer-
ing of IBM between 1991 and 1993. Transfer to IBM Glob-
al Service in 1994, responsible for the Electronic &HiTech
Industry, as Industry- and Thought Leader for Europe un-
til 2009. 2003 promoted to Global Relationship Partner at
IBM Global Business Service. Working with large inter-
national companies on executive level to improve their
global competitive position, such as: ABB, Philips, Mer-
cedes, Bosch, Siemens, Adtranz, Zeiss, Panasonic, SKF,
Ericsson, Nokia. Quality assessments at Hyundai-Auto
and Deawoo, Heavy Industries, in South Korea. Specific
skills and projects during the last 15 years in: Corporate
Level Strategy and Reengineering, Procurement, BPR,
SCM and Manufacturing, Business Process Outsourcing
and transfer to near shore or off-shore, as well as several
high level Benchmarking studies.
