Foundation concrete is measured in the unit of cubic meters which
are (not less than) the exact dimensions as specified in the drawing.
(ii) Footings, columns, beams lintels etc. are measured in cubic meters.
(iii) Slabs and Chajja are measured in square meters.
(iv) Parapet Wall, Apron Wall and Drop Wall from Chajja are measured
for cubic contents.
(v) Projections of 15 cms. or less in breadth and thickness are
considered as band and measured in cubic meters. Deductions are
to be made for grooves and no extra payment is made for forming
such grooves.
(vi) Staircase is measured in cubic metres comprising of steps and soffit
slab. Landing and land beams are paid separately under slab and
beam measurements.
2.9 MILD STEEL REINFORCEMENT:
Mild Steel is paid for on standard weight basis for the steel actually
placed in position Wastage, spacers required and binding wire are not
measured and included for payment. Each and every bar is checked for
the size specified in the drawing and measured in running metres. The
weight of steel is arrived at by calculations based on the following
standard weights.
2.10 BRICK MASONRY:
6 mm 0.22 Kg. per mtr.
10 mm 0.62 Kg. per mtr.
12 mm 0.89 Kg. per mtr.
16 mm 1.58 Kg. per mtr.
20 mm 2.47 Kg. per mtr.
22 mm 2.93 Kg. per mtr.
25 mm 3.85 Kg. per mtr.
In respect of construction of brick masonry two modes of measurements
are involved for purpose of payment.
