(c) Bills initiated by the Correspondence Department, North, are
checked with various documents in respect of recoupment of
Revenue Stamps, Franking Machines, Imprest Cash, etc.
(d) The Dishonoured Cheques Register of the Cash Department,
North, and the Consumers Department, North, are checked to
ascertain that amounts are realized for cheques dishonoured.
(e) The Shortage and Excess Registers are checked with Cash
Challans to ascertain posting of correct amounts in respective
Registers and recoveries of shortages from the employees
concerned.
(f) The Bank Reconciliation Statement, monthwise, is checked with
the records of the Cash Department, State Bank of India, etc.
(g) Cash Receipt Books of departments at Dadar are checked with
the Cash Remittance Slips Register.
(h) Electricity bills initiated by departments at Dadar payable to the
M/s. Reliance Electric Energy Ltd. are verified from records
maintained there and then released for payment.
(i) Locker Deposit Refunds, Workmen’s Compensation Relief Bills of
the Transportation Engineering Department and Imprest
Recoupment Bills of all departments at Dadar are verified from
the various registers maintained there.
8.4 PROCEDURE IN THE UNDERTAKING
Working of the Consumers Department:
The Distribution and Commercial Department receive requisitions
submitted as per Electricity Act, 2003, for laying new Electric Supply
Lines, connections, reconnections, change of service line, meters, etc.
However, the Electricity Act 2003, is introduced by repealing earlier
Act.
When submitting a requisition the intending consumer pays a
registration fee which is non-refundable. The fees
for requisition, connection, reconnection, etc. are charged as stated in
the Conditions of Supply approved by Government. Following
investigations by the inspectoral staff, the department informs the
intending consumer in writing stating the requirements required to be
