II DUTIES – SPECIFIC These are divided under following heads : 1. Security & Safety of Cash 2. Security & Safety of Arms & Ammunition. 3. Fire prevention, Fire Protection, Fire Fighting and Civil Defence. 4. Security Measures- Planning, Implementations 5. Maintenance of Law & Order 6. Vigilance 7. Assistance to other departments 8. Security & Safety of Cash : --------------------------------- He shall – a] carry out inspection of Cash Vans b] inspect the route of Cash Vans periodically and make changes as and when required. c] ensure that guide lines provided by the CSVO are adhered to by the departments handling cash by paying visit to such Departments/premises. d] help CSVO in reviewing the Security measures for cash from time to time. e] go through the night inspection reports submitted by the Officers to check whether the Officers do check the Armed Guards, arms & ammunition during their night inspection rounds. f] arrange shooting practice for Security Officers and Armed Guards by obtaining permission of the Police Commissioner g] Pay surprise visits to departments handling cash and also to Banks/Cash Collection Centres to ensure that the Armed Guards adhere to the drill laid down. 2. Security & Safety of Arms & Ammunitions : ------------------------------------------------------- He shall ensure that -
i) the arms licences are renewed in time. ii) arrange for shooting practice programme for Officers and Armed Guards iii) training given to A/Guards/Officers for handling arms & ammunitions. iv) proper transport arrangement are made for the Officers, A/Guards & Arms to the firing range. v) arrangements are made to procure necessary amount of money for replenishment of ammunition used at firing range. vi) periodical inspection of log books maintained in the A/Guard Section for the withdrawal and depositing of arms by Officers and A/Guards is carried out. vii) periodically inspect the arms as well as take stock check. viii) arrange for the payment of bills in respect of arms got repaired by the Armed Guard Section. ix) arrange for supply of various items required by the Armed Guard Section for efficient maintenance of arms. 3. Fire prevention, Protection, Fire fighting : ---------------------------------------------------- He shall- i) pay visit to various premises to ensure that fire prevention measure are duly observed. ii) maintain classified record of fire incidents and ensure the implementation of measures suggested by the CSVO. iii) arrange for training of staff of various Depot/Departments in basic fire fighting methods. iv) arrange for Civil Defence Basic Course training for the Officers/Staff of other department of the Undertaking by establishing liaison with other Head of the Departments and Civil Defence Authorities. v) arrange to put up Committee Notes for sanction of deputation of Officers/Staff to various Civil Defence Courses and take necessary action as regard to their medical certificate, attendance at the course and payment of deputation allowance. vi) visit Central Fire Station at Byculla where Fire demonstrations will be given by the Fire Brigade Personnel. 4.
