Abstract
The research project was conducted in the wetlands of the estuary of the Rio Maipo which is located
in the Province of San Antonio, municipality of Santo Domingo. In the background we have about
this place, we can say that there was an agreement between the Catholic University of Chile and I.
Municipality of Santo Domingo, aiming to develop joint programs to protect and preserve the area
being declared a Natural Park to protect the birds and fauna in the area. The implementation of the
convention was divided into two stages: first, in 2003, and was building an observation hut on the
banks of the river and turn an access platform with protective panels to avoid disturbing the birds, as
well as a whole this will put a fence that limits parking area. On the other hand in the second stage,
looked to interpretive, informational and instructional signs that would realize the main species of
local birds, and the Maipo River ecosystem, and let it clear the restrictions and regulations of
activities in place, would also be interior wooden benches to facilitate observations of birds for
prolonged periods.

Introducción
Específicamente en Chile no hay una planificación racional de la actividad turística, no hay
una conciencia turística nacional y su estudio e investigación están en una etapa inicial. Es por
esta razón que una disciplina como las relaciones públicas, que tiene por objeto la
problemática comunicacional de las organizaciones (públicas, privadas, sin fines de lucro, con
fines de lucro), puede conectar aspectos que en la práctica están fuertemente relacionados y
que han sido fragmentados al momento de explicar el fenómeno del turismo.
Por lo tanto, desde una perspectiva compleja, el aporte de las relaciones públicas al
desarrollo turístico no sólo apuntará a mejorar estructuras que permitan de forma eficiente el
intercambio de mensajes entre la organización y sus diversos públicos, sino que va a
