Ewa Furmańska, Potulicki Family Archive in the Polish Museum in Rapperswil. The Polish
Museum’s archival collection in Rapperswil comprises over 50 heritage items. The materials related
to the landowning Potulicki family originating from Wielkopolska region deserve special attention.
An inventory of the archives was made years ago but the remaining materials which were donated
have not been compiled in whole. A portion of drawings and graphics collected by the most outstanding
20th century representative of the family, Michał Potulicki, has been donated to the museum in
Rapperswil. The remaining parts of the rich and diverse collection that has been gathered since the beginning
of the past century are still awaiting inventory. They comprise the 17th century French maps
and a rich collection of valuable European drawings originating from the period between the 18th century
and the years preceding the collector’s death. Since his youth, the collector had been collecting
post cards, occasional printed matter and stamps, invitations and calling cards, but most of all he was
fond of collecting menus. He collected nearly 150 such items, placing the majority of them in a special
album. The collection also features money that had once been in circulation in Europe and was collected
by him throughout his entire life along with contemporary coins from all over the world.

Rapperswil. Dans le fonds d’archives du Musée polonais à Rapperswil se trouvent plus de 50 archives
privées. Les matériaux qui méritent une attention particulière sont ceux liés à la famille de
l’aristocratie terrienne d’origine de Grande-Pologne, les Potulicki. Il y a déjà plusieurs années que
les archives ont été inventoriées, mais les autres éléments du legs n’ont pas été traités. Une partie des
dessins et des gravures, collectionnés par Michał Potulicki (1897–1984), le plus éminent représentant
de la famille, a déjà enrichi le fonds du musée de Rapperswil. Le reste de cette collection riche et
diversifiée, réunie dès le début du dernier siècle, attend pour être indexée. Elle est composée de cartes
françaises du XVII e siècle et d’un grand nombre de précieuses estampes européennes qui datent du
XVII e siècle jusqu’aux années précédant la mort du collectionneur. Celui-ci depuis sa petite jeunesse
collectionnait des cartes postales, des imprimés de circonstance et des timbres, des invitations et des
cartes de visite, mais avant tout il se plaisait à collectionner des cartes de menu. Il en a recueilli environ
150, en plaçant la majorité d’elles dans un album destiné spécialement à cette fin. A cette collection
s’ajoutent des pièces de monnaie autrefois en circulation en Europe, de même que des monnaies
contemporaines du monde entier, collectées au cours de la vie de son créateur.

особого внимания материалы, связанные с помещичьей семьей Потулицких из Велькопольши.
Архивные материалы были инвентаризованы, но другие элементы дара не дождались полной
обработки. Часть коллекции рисунков и графики, собранной самым выдающимся в XX в.
представителем рода — Михалом Потулицким, обогатила рапперсвильский музей. Остальная
часть богатой и разнообразной коллекции, собиравшейся с начала прошлого столетия, ожидает
описания. В её состав входят французские карты семнадцатого века и богатое собрание ценных
европейских рисунков, созданных в период с XVII в. до последних лет жизни коллекционера.
Потулицкий с ранней молодости собирал почтовые карты, марки и печатные издания,
связанные с торжественными событиями, приглашения и визитные билеты. Его увлечением
было коллекционирование ресторанных меню. Собрал он их около 150, помещая большинство
в специально созданном альбоме. Собрание дополняют деньги, собиравшиеся в течение всей
жизни создателя коллекции и находившиеся ранее в обращении на территории Европы, а также
современные монеты со всего мира.
