1. Refer to XXX-BD (Common Port Circuit Pack/Media Module).<br />

The Multimedia Interface circuit pack (TN787D or later, also called the MMCH circuit pack)<br />

provides a number of H.221 protocol terminations for bit streams received from the TDM bus.<br />

The Multimedia Interface de multiplexes the H.221 bit stream (audio, video, data, control, and<br />

indication signals) and transmits the bit streams onto the TDM bus so that the appropriate circuit<br />

packs can process them.<br />

The Multimedia Interface circuit pack is commonly referred to as the MMI pack for H.221<br />

protocol termination. There are 32 ports (also called resources) on the circuit pack. See MMI-PT<br />

(Multimedia Interface Port) for maintenance of these resources.<br />

The MMI circuit pack contains 4 digital signal processors that manage the 32 resources.<br />
