FAIL One or more administered circuit packs in this switch node carrier did not<br />

respond with a “board insertion” uplink message.<br />

1. Enter list config carrier location to verify that<br />

administered SNI and SNC boards match the physically installed SNI<br />

and SNC boards. The command output shows NO BOARD for every<br />

board that is administered but not inserted.<br />

2. If every administered board is inserted, run this test again.<br />

3. If administration does not match the physical configuration and is<br />

correct, insert the missing circuit packs in this switch node carrier.<br />

4. If administration does not match the physical configuration, and is<br />

incorrect, change the administration, and run this test again.<br />

5. If none of the administered boards in this switch node carrier were<br />

inserted, fix any other SN-CONF errors by following the repair<br />

procedures for SYS-LINK (System Links). Enter display errors<br />

with category pnc to view SN-CONF errors. Enter list sys-link<br />

to see if any INLs, LNLs, or RNLs are down. If any INLs, LNLs, or<br />

RNLs are down, see SYS-LINK (System Links) for fixing link<br />

problems.<br />

BOARD<br />

Description / Recommendation<br />

No board was detected by the test.<br />

1. Check that SNC board is properly translated and inserted.<br />

2. Run the test again. If it fails, reset the board. An SNC should be reset<br />

instead of reseating the circuit pack. The reset board command<br />

should almost never be used on an SNC. It may be necessary to use<br />

reset board if the SNC circuit pack gets into a mode where it<br />

cannot communicate with software. If an SNC with active errors and<br />

alarms is reset, the errors and alarms may take a while to come<br />

back, therefore reset board can mask real problems.<br />

3. Run the test again. If it fails, the ID chip on board may be bad.<br />

Replace the board and retest.<br />
